Remove Overlap

Function Description: Removes overlaps between polygons contained within multiple input layers.

Data Description

• The Output Feature Class parameter contains the input polygons with overlaps removed.

• If no overlaps exist between the input polygons, the output feature class will be a copy of the input.

Steps

1. Go to Toolbox -> Vector Tools -> Overlay Analysis -> Remove Overlap tool, and double-click to open the function window.

Parameter Description:

• Input Features: Input features containing overlapping polygons.
• Output Feature Class: The feature class containing the new polygon features.
• Add Result to Project: This option is only effective when the output feature class is saved in the gpkg database of the project. When checked, it will automatically create a layer for the result data and add it to the project.
