KML to Feature

Function Description: Converts KML or KMZ files into feature classes.

Data Description

  • Primarily supports input in KMZ version 2.2 or earlier as defined by the OGC KML standard.

Steps

Find the KML To Feature tool in the toolbox and double-click to open the tool window.

Parameter Description:

  • Input KML File: The KML or KMZ file to be converted.
  • Select fields to export: Check the fields to be exported to the output feature class.
  • Output feature class: Path for the generated feature class.
  • Add result to project: This option is only available when outputting the feature class result to the project's gpkg database. If checked, a layer will be automatically created for the result data and added to the project.
