Viewing Azimuth and Distance

Overview

Calculate and display the azimuth and distance of individual trees relative to a reference point. The calculated results can also be saved.

Usage

Click ALS Forest > View Azimuth and Distance or TLS Forest > View Azimuth and Distance.

A file selection dialog will pop up. Select the point cloud individual tree attribute file to be calculated. For the format of the individual tree attribute file, refer to Individual Tree Segmentation Result File Format.

The software will display the positions of the individual trees on a 2D canvas and show the azimuth and distance.

  • Max Distance to Display : If unchecked, the distance lines between all individual trees and the reference point will be displayed on the 2D canvas. If checked, only the distance lines for trees within the set maximum distance from the reference point will be displayed.
  • Display Azimuth Value: If unchecked, the azimuth values between individual trees and the reference point will not be displayed on the 2D canvas. If checked, they will be displayed.
  • Display Distance Value: If unchecked, the distance values between individual trees and the reference point will not be displayed on the 2D canvas. If checked, they will be displayed.
