Cultural Heritage Surveys
Laser scanning has been proven the best solution for recording historical sites, and lidar has become an ideal solution for digitally preserving cultural heritage sites for three-dimensional modeling and reconstruction. Lidar can measures three-dimensional features with high precision in a short amount of time and without any contact to sensitive areas. Lidar measures thousands of points a second; an impossible feat using alternative methods and the obtained point cloud data presents the heritage site in full detail. Post-processing the point cloud data, 3D models can be generated that can be stored digitally into the cultural heritage database. This database can be used later for repairing damages in the future, allowing us to accurately preserve any heritage site.
