LiDAR360 & LiDAR360 Lite Version 1.3 Out Now!

Things here at the GreenValley International office have been pretty busy lately with a lot of new, exciting projects/products in the mix! With the success of our recent events at both the AAG in Boston and the Geospatial Innovation Facility (GIF) workshop at UC Berkeley, we’ve also received some valuable customer feedback on our flagship software, LiDAR360. In order to innovate and exceed consumer expectations, we have implemented several quality upgrades that make LiDAR360 Version 1.3 more powerful than ever.

Since LiDAR360’s inception in October 2016 we have provided 3 upgrades and a free lite version. Version 1.3 has built off these updates to provide our customers with unparalleled processing abilities at an even higher accuracy. So without further adieu, let’s run through a few upgrades:

LiDAR360 Version 1.3 – Powerline Analysis Functions

The powerline and transmission industry lays claim to a large stake of LiDAR tech. As such, a new classify powerline feature has been added to LiDAR360 v1.3. To access this, click on the ‘Classify’ tab and scroll to the bottom of the list, selecting ‘Classify Power Line.’ In the popup window, there are several options for classifying your point cloud data. These options include: ground, medium vegetation, building, model key point, overlap points, low vegetation, high vegetation, low point and water to name a few. Batch Processing

Batch Processing is a necessary function for lidar data analysis. With LiDAR360 Version 1.3 you can now quickly process multiple files as well as multiple functions.

LiDAR360 v1.3 increases the automation and efficiency in regards to batch processing, specifically relating to CHM and tree segmentation. This is an especially useful toolset for the forestry industry.pictureofbatchprocessing

Contour Generation Speed Improvements

With the large size and complexity of LiDAR data, speed processing and analysis is a necessity for any powerful post-processing software. With version 1.3 of LiDAR360, we have made significant speed improvements for contour generation based on point cloud data. Within this new function, we can generate contour lines directly based on point cloud and DEM(.tif) files.

Customizable Powerhouse

LiDAR360 Version 1.3 is also highly customizable. Depending on your project needs, we can add personalized toolsets to fit your geospatial workflow. As an example, we have recently developed a customized powerline analysis toolset for a high value client. 2017.04.17 1.3 New features

(1) PLY data import and export added to I/O module;

(2) Elevation difference, overlap and density quality reports added to strip adjustment module;

(3) Subsampling based on octree, point cloud convert to DXF added to data management module;

(4) Power line classification;

(5) Support for mix and glass coloring modes in rendering.

(6) Batch process for multi-files and multi-functions;

(7) Geometric correction (support point cloud registration based on points or sphere targets).

Enhancements

(1) Speed improvements for contour generation based on point cloud;

(2) Users can set the properties of minor, basic and major contours for point cloud to contour; the elevation attributes can be read.

(3) Shows the boundary of concave polygon for area measurements;

(4) The resolution of surface model is not limited to 0.5m.
