AAG 2017 : Showcasing our flagship LiDAR hardware, LiBackpack
The annual American Association of Geographers (AAG 2017) event is upon us. AAG is the premier event for the sharing of ideas and knowledge relating to the world of geography and geomatics. This quintessential 4-day event, is a must attend for industry academics and professionals alike. This years AAG will see professional groups like ESRI and the GIS Certification Institute. Academic institutions such as the University of MD College Park, Dept of Geographical Sciences and government institutions like the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
GreenValley International is excited to be attending the event this year. Come visit us at Booth 514 and check out our new software and hardware product line. Our attendance will be pre-eminently highlighted by the release of the LiBackpack. The LiBackpack is a lightweight, POS-less mobile LiDAR system featuring the Velodyne VLP-16 LiDAR Sensor. It also integrates SLAM technology which allows users to effortlessly capture both indoor and outdoor point cloud data, in the real time.
The meeting will feature over 6,900 presentations, workshops, and field trips by industry leaders. Over 60 exhibitors from all corners of the globe will be attending, adding to an informative and innovative forum. Our founder, Dr. Michael Guo, will be spearheading our exhibition team at AAG 2017. His expertise and experience in the industry gives him a rare insight into future LiDAR developments. Alongside Dr. Guo will be Leo Liu (General Manager) and Jacob Flanagan (Head of Product Development).
The LiBackpack has undergone an extensive R&D process that has resulted in a measurable competitive edge. Our research team tested the LiBackpack in a multitude of applications with significant results. We conducted a DBH measurement verification study which confirmed the surveying accuracy in comparison to both the FARO and manual measured data. For full results please visit our website here.
This year is an exciting year for both LiDAR and GreenValley International. Our involvement with institutions such as UC Berkeley’s Geospatial Innovation Facility has given us a deep insight into further research within the industry. With the release of our LiBackpack we are also expanding our reseller base into both Europe and Asia. For more information regarding AAG 2017 please visit AAG.org or GreenValley International.
